.+:Memoria de Eskwela:+.
The boy was in front of his monitor again, wearing a headset and listening to Helena by My Chemical Romance while chatting to some of his friends in Yahoo Messenger. Well, the song seems to be stuck on his head for he was playing it for days now.
So back to the boy’s story, while he was studying at the Adventist school in Quezon City, his grandparents hired workers in constructing their house in Caloocan. By the time he finished grade 3, their house was almost finished thus his mom decided to look for a school near their house there and with the help from a friend; she found out that there was an Adventist school near their vicinity.
His mom enrolled him at that Adventist school but he didn’t like the idea for he should wake up earlier than before because he’s going to travel that far just to attend school. His grandma was the one who vouches him to school everyday. When the school started, he felt lonely because he couldn’t befriend much of the students there. There was even this annoying female seat mate of his who teases and harasses him frequently but he doesn’t tell that to his teacher or even to his parent. Just recently, he heard that this female classmate of his is now pregnant at the age of 15. The boy somehow felt happy for her current situation. The compensation of hurting me, he said to himself.
By the end of the year, their house was now complete and his mom decided to there just by themselves. Her parents were left in Manila to take care of their sari-sari store while the boy had a hard time coping with their new lifestyle. Everyday, he walks to school while his mom goes to work and arrives up late for dinner in the evening. He got used at being alone waiting for his mom every night.
When summer came, his mom decided to live in Manila again, exchanging houses with her parents. By that time, the boy’s addiction to computers grew more. He was playing Pokemon gameboy advance games using an emulator for he doesn’t have the real thing. The one who pays for his computer bills was his godfather who was always there; buying everything the boy wanted thus making him a spoiled brat.
After summer ended, his mom decided to enroll him again for grade 5 at the Adventist school in Caloocan where the boy had to travel again from Manila just to attend school. One time, when the boy was about to enter the computer room, his classmate slammed the door which injured half of the boy’s body. This traumatized him and after attending school for some days, the boy didn’t go back to that damn school and decided to stop.
What did he do afterwards? He tried attending a public school in Manila but quited it for he felt that the lessons there are too easy but still, he enjoyed it for quite some time because the students there, even though they are less fortunate that him, have a good attitude rather than the ones who are in a private school.
. . .So long and goodnight, so long and goodnight.
